These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Home of Motors website, your purchase of vehicles, and any related services we provide. By accessing our website or purchasing a vehicle from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. About Us

Home of Motors is an independent motor dealership based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. We sell used vehicles and provide related services such as part‑exchange, warranties, and vehicle delivery.

3. Vehicle Information & Descriptions

  • We take reasonable care to ensure all vehicle descriptions, specifications, prices, and images are accurate.

  • Mileage may vary slightly due to test drives or vehicle movement.

  • All vehicles are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.

  • Customers are responsible for inspecting the vehicle before purchase.

4. Pricing

  • All prices are listed in GBP and include VAT where applicable.

  • Prices may change without notice but will not affect orders already agreed in writing.

  • Additional products (warranties, accessories, etc.) will be priced separately.

5. Deposits & Reservation Fees

  • Deposits or reservation fees may be required to secure a vehicle.

  • Deposits are typically non‑refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • A reserved vehicle will be held for the agreed period only.

6. Payment Terms

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Bank transfer

  • Cash payments (within UK anti‑money‑laundering limits)

Not Accepted

  • Debit card payments

  • Credit card payments (unless specifically agreed in writing)

Full payment must be received before the vehicle is released.

7. Part‑Exchange Vehicles

If you provide a part‑exchange vehicle:

  • You confirm you are the legal owner or have the legal right to trade it in.

  • Valuation is based on the information you provide and our inspection.

  • If undisclosed faults or discrepancies are discovered, we may adjust the valuation.

8. Vehicle Collection & Delivery

  • Collection dates will be agreed in advance.

  • Delivery may be available at an additional cost.

  • Risk transfers to the customer once the vehicle is collected or delivered.

9. Warranty & After‑Sales

  • Vehicles may come with a dealer warranty or manufacturer warranty (where applicable).

  • Warranty terms vary depending on the vehicle and will be provided in writing.

  • Wear‑and‑tear items are generally excluded unless otherwise stated.

10. Returns, Cancellations & Vehicle Condition

In‑Person Purchases

  • There is no automatic right to cancel once the sale is complete.

  • Returns are at the dealer’s discretion unless covered by warranty or statutory rights.

Distance Sales (Online or Phone)

  • You may have a 14‑day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

  • Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as supplied.

Vehicle Condition on Return

If a vehicle is returned:

  • A full condition inspection will be carried out.

  • Any damage, missing items, or deterioration beyond reasonable use will result in deductions from the refund amount.

  • Cleaning, repair, or refurbishment costs may also be deducted.

Mileage Surcharge

If the vehicle is returned with additional mileage:

  • A surcharge of £0.45 per mile will be applied for every mile driven beyond the mileage recorded at handover.

11. Website Use

By using our website, you agree:

  • Not to misuse or attempt to disrupt the website.

  • Not to copy or reproduce website content without permission.

  • That we may update or remove content at any time.

12. Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Losses arising from incorrect information provided by the customer

  • Indirect or consequential losses

  • Losses caused by third‑party service providers

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, negligence, or death/personal injury caused by our actions.

13. Data Protection & Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.

14. Complaints Procedure

If you are unhappy with our service:

  1. Contact us directly to resolve the issue.

  2. If unresolved, we will provide guidance on the next steps depending on the nature of the complaint.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
